Major Change of Plans

Alldredge Academy called me today. They are the people that offered me a job on Friday. I turned the job down yesterday and accepted it today. I couldn't say no because it turns out I'll make twice as much as I thought. I am so excited! I already called Harry Joe to tell him I can't teach guitar anymore. He was soooo nice and understanding. Then I called my friend Brady and asked him if he wants 6 new students, and of course he did.

I'm probably going to start my new job Feb 1st. That's a week away. This is going to be a busy week. I have to find an apartment, move, quit my job, cancel an interview, get 4 snow tires (if not a whole new car), and substitute teach.

I'm going to be a choir teacher tomorrow. I'm subbing for a woman that I tortured in middle school. She had to make 2 busses pull off the road during one of our field trips so she could come onto my bus and sit with me. I was thrown out of choir as a result.

Tonight was my last bible study at C3. I told them about my new job and at the end of the evening they laid hands on me and prayed for me. It was really nice.

For you West Virginians, I'll moving to Davis which is right outside of Canaan Valley, and three miles away from the Purple Fiddle. The school I'm going to work for is really close to Dolly Sodds Backpacking area. I'll be living in an area where the community gets together for bluegrass jams and potluck dinners. Some of the best rock climbing in the east is right down the road, and I'll be living near two ski resorts. One magazine listed Davis as one of the top 10 ski towns in the US. I'm not sure why...but that's cool anyway. Looks like I'll be learning to snowboard this winter after all:)

I could go on and on but my arms are hurting from typing. I'm glad tomorrow is my last day of teaching guitar because my arms can't take much more.

Later!

Aaarghhgh. When I read posts like this, I have to fight that green devil of envy within me...

...but that's not as difficult when it's someone like Melissa that is getting the awesome deal. I'm happy for you, sister.

My new job starts the 1st of February as well.
It feels good to start a new part of life, doesn't it?

Wow that sounds wonderful!!! What would be doing for the job? Is the job working with youth in the outdoors that you were dreaming about?

Congratulations on the job! I wanted to tell you 2 things: that area has received snow during every month of the year and you need to eat at Siriani's pizza near the resorts. I'm really excited for you!
