The Story of My Trip Home; Inspired by Narnia
Once upon a time, a young girl named Melissa was called out of her world by Aslan to go on a mission in another world. That was nine months ago. Since then Melissa has had many great adventures in the other world called "the Netherlands." The best times were when Aslan appeared and let Melissa ride on his back when the journey was too tough, or when he just held her in his arms, or when he spoke to her with his kind but terrifying voice. (I don't have time to tell you all of these adventures you can read them on other posts that came before this one).
Melissa knew for a few weeks that her adventures in The Netherlands were ending and that Aslan was calling her back to the other world, the United States. Melissa had made a lot of new friends in this new world, and it was really hard to say goodbye. What if Aslan never called her back to the Netherlands? What if she never saw these friends again?
One night Aslan came to Melissa and said, "Do not be scared child. I am going with you. I am always with you. I called you here into this world for just a short while. Now come, I have many more adventures for you over the great sea. Don't be afraid child. For someday you will join me in my father's world and all these friends of yours will be there. Now come and follow me."
The next morning Melissa woke up and forgot about the dream. She went to return her horse so she could get her deposit back. Then she went back to the castle that Aslan had provided for her and collected all of her bags. It was time to say goodbye to the Netherlands. She knew the time had come. Melissa's friends took her to the place where all of the great birds that can travel in between worlds sleep. Melissa woke one of the great birds and was forced to pay him an exorbitant amount of money to fly her to the other world, the United States.
The journey home was smooth. The bird would only take Melissa as far as Philly, but that was ok because she found a smaller bird in Philly that took her to Pittsburgh. Melissa was so tired and sick when the small bird dropped her off in Pittsburgh. As if in a dream, her parents and little sister were standing on the ground waiting for her to land. She looked into their faces and realized she was now in the United States. Then she remembered the dream she had dreamed the night before. She heard Aslan's voice again, "I am always with you, now come and follow me."
On the rest of the journey home Melissa's heart was full of joy because she was back in the mountains and she was with her family. She had forgotten how wonderful it was to drive through the snow covered hills. Melissa realized that her next adventure was just beginning. She was so thankful that Aslan had called her into the world over the great sea, The Netherlands. There were great adventures over there. She wondered what Aslan might call her to next. But mainly she was just enjoying the laughter of her family and the beauty of the mountains. She was home.
