Forced Relaxation

I have no other choice but to try to relax. I don't have any responsibilities. I have to make some phone calls to take care of some stuff but the people won't be in their offices until after the new year.

My mind has been really busy. I'm in the states...so now what. I've kind of decided I would rather waitress than be a sub, so I put in an application at a new restaurant down the street. I might even make more money serving food than teaching. I'm probably going to have a private violin studio as well, which will be fun.

Christmas was nice. It came and went really quickly. My cousin brought his two kids (ages 4 and 18 months) and they were our warm, fuzzy entertainment for the evening.

I went to the Christmas Eve service at our church and got to see my pastor, and a few other people I really like and respect. That was cool. My old bible study is going on tonight but my family and I are going to my aunt's to hang out. So I guess I'll have to wait until Sun to see the rest of my church buds.

A few personal notes or notices:

Adelieda- darling, I've been thinking about you and praying for you but I don't have your e-mail address. Please send me an e-mail and I'll write you back.

Marco and Ryan- I started on the cds yesterday. I should finish them within the next few days.

Magda and Nynke! Same thing- I don't have your e-mail addresses and I'm wondering how things went.

Basically, Shelter people, I don't have any of your e-mail addresses. I would LOVE them. It would be great if you could send me an e-mail (you don't have to write anything except your name) so that I can store you in my address book. Thanks!

My friend Billy is back in Amsterdam right now. If you go to the Zolder's conference you might see him. I would recommend the conference to everyone over there. I've been to a few GCM conferences and I'm always really challenged and encouraged by the teaching. The conferences are sometimes turning points in people's lives. Go and check it out.

So much for skiing or snowboarding. It's been 40-45 degrees F all week.

Later!

Hey Melissa,

I wish you a Merry Chrismas and a blessed new year. I know it is a bit late. And I just read that you had a great time. Well, I just wanted to tell you. Chrismas here was different but nice and I really enjoyed it being here. The youth with a mission group who is staying with us is a big encouragement for me. Lifes goes on and the last days were like a roller coaster - extremly ups and downs. New staff coming, old staff going blablabla. I think you can imagine. Actually what I wanted to tell you, thank you for you goodbye letter to me. It was so cool. And it was an encouragement for me and something like a little sign in which direction God is guiding me. Does it make sense? Thank you. God bless you and all your new steps. Thanks for the time with you and all the fun. I appreciate you and really like you. Can you give me your email adress as well? Here is mine: christinaermke@gmx.de

Hoi Tina!
Thanks for the note- I'm glad the ywam team is an encouragement since they're going to be around for so long! I know how it is during big staff changes, although the one you're experiencing may be bigger than any of the ones during my time at the Shelter. I'm sure the next week will be extremely up and down with everyone saying goodbye. I'll send you an e-mail.
Later! Love you!

The conference is radically impacting my life. We are going to meet for a time of musical worship tonight @ PostHorneKerke @7PM. Feel free to invite people from the Shelter.

I think it is on Haarlemmer Straat.

Tot ziens!
