soaking wet

Hey guys. I've lacked inspiration lately so sorry I haven't been posting very much. Sorry.

Have you ever met someone that is living one of your dreams? I met a person that is living out one of my dreams. I have lots of dreams/future "plans", I mean lots, and they change quite frequently. But one of my dreams is to move to Boulder, CO, major in french at the university of CO in Boulder, then be a teaching assistant in France. This guy checked in the other day when I was sitting at reception and we started talking. He is a music education major with a french minor at the University of CO in Boulder, and he's a violinist and a violist. He is currently working in France as a teaching assistant. Is that crazy or what? For those of you who may not know, I have a degree in music education, and my major instruments are violin and viola. I asked this guy so many questions because he's living my dream and I want to know what it's like. Anyway, he had lots of good things to say about Boulder, and France.

By the way, did you know that less than 1% of the people living in France are Christian? They're the most atheistic country in Europe. They also have a super strict separation of church and state. Plus in 2001 France created a law that "protects people against cults and sects". But guess what, Evangelical and Charismatic churches are considered to be cults. If France would really want to enforce the law someday then evangelism would become illegal. How did I get onto that tangent? Anyway...

I went to a concert at the Concertgebouw tonight, which by the way is the most frequented concert hall in the world (according to Ryan). They have 2-4 concerts a day and they're frequently sold out. Anyway, the concert I went to was a string quartet featuring works by Schubert, Bartok, and Haydn. The guys were really great performers. Watching them have so much fun playing made me really miss my violin. I used to love playing in quartetes with Podolski and Dan Spurlock.

I rode my bike home from the concert in a steady rain. I didn't hate it, it was actually kind of fun. Sometimes I really hate riding my bike in the rain. I really miss my car when it's raining and my shoes are soaked and my mascara is dripping off my chin. Other than that I prefer biking.

Have I told you lately that I love Amsterdam and my life over here? It's true. I don't think life can get any better than this. Can I get an Amen?

I've thought about france myself. I can remember being at a conference, and realizing that (at the time) I was better prepared for mission work in France than any other country (other than the US). I have studied french for 5 years of my life, but it has been nearly ten years since my last class.

Looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks!!!
