We have heat in our apartment!
I have a big strings concert this Monday. I'm a little nervous but I'm sure it will be fine.
I don't really know what to blog about.
I'm reading "Searching for God Knows What" by Donald Miller and it's really, really good. He's the guy that wrote "Blue Like Jazz" which is another book you should read. I love his writing style and his thoughts on american christianity and evangelicals. Check it out!
Praise God I'm playing my violin all day long (off and on) with relatively no pain. It's amazing. I would love to take private lessons again to improve my playing. Hopefully that will be in my future.
My church is starting a group for young adults. Our first meeting will be on Sun, which my roommate and I are excited about.
Ummmm. What else is going on?
Wheeling is growing on me. I'm starting to see it's beauty despite my past here.
Lately I've been thinking a lot about the time I spent in Amsterdam. I've been looking at pictures and reading my journals from my time over there. I've really been missing my friends overseas! My good friend from college, Greta, is flying over to Amsterdam on Mon. She'll be working at the Shelter for a year. I'm so happy for her! I'll definitely miss her while she's gone.
I never thought I would be "homesick" for Amsterdam...but...
I'm wondering what I should do with my entire summer. Since I'm a teacher I get 2 full months off. Any suggestions?
Enjoy the weekend!

Since you are new to this 2 months off scenario I am here to help as I have lots of experience in this area of the teaching profession.
First, take a week or so to just exist, and get caught up on everything that you had put aside during the school year...cleaning, reading, blogging, coffee shops, and of course SLEEP! :)
Second, a "plan o' fun" should be developed long before the summer commences...this includes funding issues as well as destinations, and reservations as needed.
Third, I find that spending at least 2 days at the pool helps in the relaxation department.
Fourth, now that your oldest and wisest sister is turning into a bluegrasser I would think that a concert or festival might be in order.
Finally, the key to summer bliss is to relax and savor every moment, because let's be honest...not every profession can indulge in such luxuries! haha

Come to NH.... hike, climb etc.! Visit the cutest baby in the northeast.
I'd have to agree with Adeleida. Come to Amsterdam.
Which months do you get off? I'm planning to do a pilgrimage from Easter til Pentecost, and just in general will be doing a lot of traveling next summer, but I'll be in Amsterdam in between as well. Will probably make it back to North America again, but I'm not sure about the East Coast...
Glad to see you are blogging again. You should definitely go to New Hampshire and visit the Costines!!!
And then, you should help develop and implement a Leadership Training program that would allow a small group of students to travel and spend their summer in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
How about coming to Amsterdam? Maybe you could even work in the Shelter again :)
I would love to see you!
Anyway, I hope you're doing well. Reading you're blog, I think you are.
Bless you!
I've never thought to be homesick for Amsterdam either but sometimes am, well I can go there now and than...May was my last visit.
Suggestion: Come over here!!! And when you are in A'dam anyway than come to visit me in the wonderful city of Hanover/Germany. I'm missing you like crazy...or invite me...
love and hugs
Wow, thanks for all of the suggestions. I love them all. I will be off from early June to mid-August. I'll let you know if I will be in your part of the world.
