More apartment drama! My apartment has been one huge headache since I moved in a month and a half ago. My landlord is driving me crazy. My apartment has sooooooooooo many health/safety issues that need to be addressed, and they are not being addressed. The most recent problem? Our furnace doesn't work. My roommate and I have been sleeping in winter hats with lots of layers and blankets on every night. Has my landlord returned my call? No. So, my roommate and I started looking for a new apartment today. I still have to persuade my landlord to let me out of my lease, which usually costs $1,000(one month of rent + deposit). I don't think I should have to pay to get out of my lease, since I'm leaving due to her neglect. We'll see how that goes. My roommate and I decided to hire professional movers to move us because she just moved into our apartment two weeks ago. We aren't exactly ready to move again. It's a bummer of a situation.

My job is going pretty well. I enjoy teaching at the elementary level more than the middle school level. Basically, my life consists of teaching, playing, and studying music, and making parent phone calls. I'm still adjusting to life in Wheeling, and life as a teacher.

I have a great roommate. She's a Christian, and a first year teacher. We get along very well and we've already become good friends.

I haven't been blogging because I don't have internet at my apartment. You'll have to forgive me. Maybe once I move we will get internet.

Hopefully you'll hear from me soon.

your landlord situation sounds just like mine! we didn't have heat either, and no response from him, so we called the landlord and tenants agency (who told us all our rights and all the things he's doing illegally...so legally we don't have to pay rent until they're fixed) as well as public health. public health was going to send over an inspector, so we called our landlord and told him that. he called back so quickly and was so nice on the phone (no yelling at all, which he has been known to do) and our heat got fixed the next day...
anyways, i hope everything gets worked out for you...praying for you!
